How is a glider different from a rocking chair?
A traditional rocker moves on curved runners, so the chair follows the surface underneath it. On an uneven porch or deck, you can feel every little bump, gap, or change in the boards as you rock. A glider moves back and forth on a fixed track instead, keeping the chair stable while you enjoy a smoother, quieter motion. If you like the idea of rocking but want something a little more controlled and comfortable, a glider is worth trying. The difference is easy to feel once you sit in one.
Are gliders better on uneven surfaces than rockers?
A glider moves back and forth on a fixed track rather than rocking on curved runners. That means the motion stays controlled instead of following every bump or change in the surface, making gliders a great choice for porches and decks that aren't perfectly level.
Can two people use a glider together?
Our Adirondack-style gliders are single-seat, but we also carry glider benches and loveseat versions that are cozy for two. Ask our Shediac showroom team about the different options.
Do poly gliders require any maintenance?
Very little. No painting, sanding, staining, or sealing. Just give them a rinse when they get dirty and enjoy them year after year.
How long do KRAHN gliders last?

Why does KRAHN furniture cost that much?
KRAHN isn't the cheapest outdoor furniture we could sell, and that's okay. We won't compromise on comfort, quality and longevity, and those things cost more. Nearly 40 years of experience and countless hours of refinement have gone into getting the comfort right, while heavy-duty recycled HDPE poly, 316 marine-grade stainless steel and fully assembled construction are built for years outside. We could sell cheaper furniture, but we wouldn't feel good selling you something we wouldn't want in our own backyard. We're here for people who want to get comfortable and still love what they bought years from now.
