How heavy does an umbrella base need to be?
For a standard 9 foot market umbrella, a 25 to 30kg base is recommended. For large cantilever umbrellas, you need 60 to 80kg. We carry bases from 25kg to 80kg to match every umbrella in our collection.
Which base brands do you carry?
We carry FIM (Italian precision-engineered), Frankford (commercial-grade trusted by resorts), and Basil Bangs (design-forward for modern patios). Each pairs perfectly with its respective umbrella brand.
What type of fill do weighted bases use?
Our bases use galvanized steel shells that can be filled with sand or water on-site for extra weight. Some models come pre-weighted with concrete or steel. Ask our team which option suits your patio.
Will the base scratch my deck or patio?
All our bases feature protective rubber or plastic feet to prevent scratching hardwood decks or patio tiles. Many also include a protective mat for extra care.
Do I need a specific base for my umbrella brand?
We strongly recommend pairing your umbrella with a matching brand base. FIM bases are engineered for FIM poles, Frankford bases for Frankford poles. Mismatched bases can cause instability and void warranty.
